Looking for a summer swim team? Consider Forestbrooke. We welcome swimmers of all abilities, from just learning to high school. If your child can swim one length of the pool, that child is eligible - and you'll be amazing at his or her swimming progress by the end of the season. Teamwork, fitness and swim strokes are all taught on summer weekday mornings (or MWF afternoons from Memorial Day through mid-June) at Forestbrooke, which has a 52-year tradition in Ann Arbor. Be a part of it! We also have a dive team that practices in the evenings. For one price, your child can be on one team - or both.

Opening Day 2012: We can't wait to start the 2012 season on Memorial Day weekend! We'll be registering families for memberships, swim and dive, fitting for team suits, reconnecting with a BBQ and celebrating the start of summer. The annual bike parade starts at 11:30 a.m., and the pool opens at noon. Before it closes at 9, we'll have the potluck BBQ at 5 p.m. and welcome swimmers for free all day long. It's the perfect day to try us out or bring a guest.

NEW POOL MANAGER ! Welcome to Chris Place, Forestbrooke's new manager. Chris lives in Ann Arbor with his wife and toddler son, and he's a gym teacher in Dearborn during the school year. He's also a swim instructor and is familiar with pools, and he's looking forward to his first pool management position. We're happy to have him on board, and he's starting by hiring our guard staff. Watch for more from Chris in coming editions of the Splash and be ready to meet him at our pre-opening events and Opening Day.

Next SCRIP deadline: Tuesday, May 15. Support Forestbrooke with the easiest fund-raising ever:Buying gift cards through our "scrip" program. We offer online ordering now to make it even easier. So far this year, we've earned more than $1,000.
